Crvena Zvezda secured a spot in the ABA League Semifinals by defeating Cedevita Olimpija 95-86 at home in the decisive game.
After both teams won on their home courts, the decision came down to the third game in Belgrade, which Sasa Obradovic‘s team ultimately won.
Jared Butler was the best for Zvezda with 19 points and seven assists, Jasiel Rivero added 15, and Jordan Nwora 12. On the other side, Aleksej Nikolic scored 17 points, while Matthew Hurt added 13.
Crvena Zvezda started the match better and had a double-digit lead after the first quarter (27-15). However, Cedevita managed to get back into the game and took a 70-66 lead before the final ten minutes.
Nevertheless, Zvezda played much better defense in the final quarter, turned things in their favor, and thus advanced with a 2-1 series win.
In the Semifinals, Crvena Zvezda will play against Partizan, who will have home-court advantage in the series, which is played to two victories. Dubai and Buducnost make up the other Semifinal.
