Vojvodina are interested in signing Crvena Zvezda veteran Nikola Kalinic, Meridian Sport has learned.
The ambitious Novi Sad club reportedly formalized a partnership with Dubai Basketball and has already taken significant steps toward establishing itself on the regional stage.
Bringing in Kalinic would represent its most high-profile move yet, although the report notes that the interest has not developed into an agreement at this stage.
Kalinic made his professional debut with hometown club Spartak Subotica. He then moved to Novi Sad in 2010, spending one season with KK Novi Sad before representing Vojvodina Srbijagas from 2011 to 2013 and beginning his rise toward the highest level of European basketball.
The 34-year-old forward is currently in his third spell with Crvena Zvezda. He helped the club secure its first triple crown in 2014-15 and repeated the achievement in 2021-22, before returning to Mali Kalemegdan once again in the summer of 2024 and adding two more domestic cups to his collection.
The former Serbia international has also represented Valencia, Barcelona and Fenerbahce, winning the EuroLeague with the Turkish club in 2017. Should Vojvodina turn its interest into a deal, Kalinic would undoubtedly become the biggest signing in the club’s recent history.
