Petrol Olimpija got an impressive road victory on Day 9 of ABA League as they prevailed over Partizan in Belgrade 78-77.

It seemed like this will be an easy evening for the home squad after a strong first half. The black and whites allowed Olimpija to score just 9 points in the first quarter and won that period 20-9. The hosts then built a comfortable 45-35 lead after the first half thanks to this amazing buzzer beater by Vanja Marinkovic.

The Slovenian team didn’t give up and bounced back in the third quarter. They outscored Partizan 26-13 in that period as they overtook the initiative of the game.

Down the last stretch, the game was close as Olimpija had a 76-75 lead with 60 seconds left on the clock. Nigel Williams-Goss scored two points for Partizan but Doman Lorbek answered with two free throws.

As the most experienced player on the court Novica Velickovic took the responsibility for Partizan. Velickovic settled for a two-point shot but he missed and Petrol Olimpija got away with a victory.

Jan Span led Olimpija with 20 points and Devin Oliver added 16.  Strahinja Gavrilovic had a double-double game for Partizan with 17 points and 11 boards.
