The former and most successful coach in the history of Partizan Belgrade, Dusko Vujosevic, was surprised by the accusations from the club’s president Ostoja Mijailovic who said it’s Vujosevic’s own fault that Partizan is in this economic situation, and that in a way, ‘he owes himself’.

Vujosevic started the talk by noting that the club’s board isn’t fair towards him and that he has every right to demand the money he is owed: “The people who are currently in Partizan, aren’t acting fair towards me at all. The money I’m being owed are personal income, salaries, not some bonuses, nor for the results, nor for the player sales, it is the basic salaries for which I have a moral, legal and every other basis for the claim.”, Vujosevic said to Sport Klub.

Then he proceeded in more detail: “First, I waited for two years. Now it’s two installments that should have been payed around the first of September 2016. and 2017, and at the end of the second year of waiting I sent a request to FIBA, namely BAT (Basketball Arbitral Tribunal). I had no other option, and nobody tried to talk to me and explain things. Since I showed more than enough patience, and that it’s about the money I should’ve been paid seven or eight years ago, I had to react. The club immediately stated that I’m stopping them from forming a team for this season, but since the moment I sued, they signed five, six or seven foreigners. You can see how much I was in the way. They are acting like I owe them and not the other way around.

He also explained that it wasn’t his fault for the club’s debt and that he didn’t make any economic decisions during that time: “It is not true that I decided on everything, especially a few last years when the most of the debt was created. In that period, I barely decided on anything.”
