The ABA Liga seems to be among the options Olympiacos is considering for the future. The idea of abandoning the Greek Basket League for the Adriatic League has been already reported, but the Greek newspaper “Live Sport” added that the Reds have sent a letter to ABA asking for detailed aspects on its operation from its shareholder structure to the competition rules.

“It’s true that Olympiacos has contacted us. We were informed on the interest to join our League, which was formalized with the letter we received. The Greek club asked to be informed on the League’s operation, it’s shareholder composition, the competition rules and other features of our League” Kresimir Novosel, ABA CEO, stated to the newspaper.

The story broke out a day after Panathinaikos OPAP issued a press release accusing their rivals of breaking the rules and blackmailing the Greek authorities with the demand for foreign referees in the Basket League.
