After initially mentioning via announcement that ABA League no longer exists, Buducnost VOLI informed with a new statement on its request for the annulment of the best-of-five series versus Crvena Zvezda mts. The team also noted that it will inform EuroLeague on all the details surrounding the Finals. Buducnost clarified that it’s ready to lay out its request to the rest of the ABA teams in the upcoming Assembly and propose new rules for the competition to avoid similar situations in the future.

Explaining its position, the Montenegrin team mentioned in the latest announcement: “It’s obvious that the representatives of ABA League and the referees fully succumbed to the pressure of the fans and the leadership of Crvena Zvezda mts. Some of our players and members of our staff were scared for their safety. It was estimated that it was better to play and safely return to Podgorica.”

The Blues also announced that Petar Mijovic will replace Jasmin Repesa and will be the head coach of the club for the rest of the 2018-19 season. After retiring as a player, Mijovic worked in France and for the Montenegrin National Team, has also been a part of Buducnost youth teams the past two years.
