ABA League selects new Management

ABA has elected a new Director and Sports Director.

The ABA League announced that Dubranko Kmetovic has been appointed as the league’s new Director. Milja Voijinovic, a former referee, was elected as Sports Director.

ABA also announced that BUducnost will host the 2020 Supercup in Podgorica.

Per ABA League:

On the proposal of the Work Committee, ABA League j.t.d. Assembly has selected Dubravko Kmetović to become the new Director and Milija Vojinović to become the new Sports Director of the ABA League.

Dubravko Kmetović is a Bachelor of the economics, graduated at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb, with an expertise of the corporate finance and professional education in London.

During his rich career he used to be at the leading positions of renowned companies like Agrokor d.d., Franck d.d., Jana North America, INC and Mecta d.o.o.

Milija Vojinović has graduated at the Novi Sad Faculty of Sports and Physical education. Since 2001 he has been an international referee. In his rich career he used to officiate at large number of games under the umbrellas of ABA League, EuroLeague and FIBA.

ABA League j.t.d. Assembly has decided to delegate the organization of 2020 ABA Super Cup to Budućnost VOLI. The ABA Super Cup will take place between 20 and 23 September 2020 in Podgorica. Eight best-placed teams of the 2019/20 ABA League season will gain the right to participate at the ABA Super Cup. In case the hosts will not be amongst the eight best-placed teams in the 2019/20 ABA League season, seven best-placed teams in the 2019/20 ABA League season and the hosts will have the right of participating at the tournament.

The ABA League j.t.d. Assembly has decided to delegate the organization of the U19 ABA League Championship to FMP. The U19 ABA League Championship Final Four Tournament will take place between 21 and 23 March in Belgrade. Cibona, Crvena zvezda mts, Koper Primorska and Mega Bemax were the teams to qualify for the final tournament.
