ABA Disciplinary Judge sanctions Zvezda with €20,000 and deduction of one point

ABA League disciplinary judge made a decision to sanction Crvena Zvezda due to not showing up for the Round 13 game against Buducnost in Montenegro

Crvena Zvezda mts didn’t show up for the ABA League Round 13 game vs. Buducnost VOLI due to safety fears and the disciplinary judge made the decision regarding the case.

Buducnost gets the official 20:0 win while Zvezda loses one point on the standings and has to pay a fine of 20,000 euros as well as the costs of the game organization.

Per ABA Liga:

Due to unjustifiable absence of Crvena zvezda mts from the 13th round game in Podgorica between Budućnost VOLI and Crvena zvezda mts, the ABA League Disciplinary Judge Saša Pavličić – Bekić made a decision to sanction Crvena zvezda mts.

Based on the 29.1 b), 32.1, 31.1 a) i 31.1c) of the ABA League Disciplinary Code, Crvena zvezda mts is sanctioned by:

  • Deduction of one point, that the club would have won in case it had lost the game;
  • Fine in amount of 20,000 €;
  • Covering the costs of Budućnost VOLI for organization of the game and the arrival of referees and commissioner.

In accordance with the ABA League regulations, Crvena zvezda mts have a right to file an appeal to the Appeals Board, on the decision made by the Disciplirary Judge.
