Tenerife bounced back and pushed the game down to the wire but Barcelona still managed to hold them off and come out on top in the Spanish League

Barcelona gambled away a double-digit lead but still got away with an 87-83 road win against Iberostar Tenerife in the Spanish League.

It was a tie at 83 with a minute and a half left to play but Ante Tomic and Alex Abrines scored four points to push Barca ahead while Tenerife’s Giorgi Shermadini and Sasu Salin didn’t use their chances on the other end.

Nikola Mirotic scored 18 points for the winning side followed by Abrines with 16 and Brandon Davies with 14 points. Tomic finished with nine.

For Tenerife, Salin banked game-high 24 points while Shermadini was right behind with 20. Marcelinho Huertas score nine but also dished 11 assists.

Barca improved to 16-4 and grabbed the first spot in front of Real Madrid and Zaragoza with 15-5 records. Tenerife follows with 13-7 and Andorra with 12-8.
