Andorra made history getting past Tenerife and to the Spanish Cup semifinals while Unicaja eliminated Zaragoza despite a strong outing by DJ Seeley

MoraBanc Andorra made history by reaching the Spanish Cup semifinals for the first time ever with an 87-85 win over Iberostar Tenerife.

Nacho Llovet scored the crucial layup for Andorra with 27 seconds remaining to put them ahead 86-85 while they forced Tenerife’s Marcelinho Huertas out of bounds in the following offense.

Dejan Todorovic scored 20 points for the victors while Moussa Diagne added 14. For Tenerife, Huertas scored 20 in addition to Giorgi Shermadini’s 19 points.

Huertas also dished 12 assists with which he passed Pablo Prigioni (109) at the top of the Spanish Cup all-time list. He dished 117 in total so far.

Andorra’s opponent in the semifinals will be Unicaja Malaga which got past Casademont Zaragoza with a 90-86 win.

Alberto Diaz led the way with 15 points while Deon Thompson helped with 14 and Ruben Guerrero with 12 points. For Zaragoza, DJ Seeley went off for game-high 29 points while Robin Bezing added 13.

The other Spanish Cup semifinal pair features Real Madrid and Valencia.
