Real Madrid is adding ANGT MVP Juan Nunez, a 16-year-old point guard, on its roster for the final phase of the Spanish ACB League in place of center Salah Mejri, coach Pablo Laso said. The Tunisian big man has been facing issues that prevented him from practicing.

“Salah is out because he had several problems and couldn’t train. We incorporate Juan Nunez a boy who has been practicing with us in preseason and can be of help to us,” Laso said per Real Madrid.

Nunez won MVP in the ANGT (Adidas Next Generation Tournament) games of Munich, January, after averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.3 rebounds to push Real Madrid’s youth team to win the tournament.

The Spanish League’s final phase, a 12-team tournament held in Valencia, is beginning on June 17.
