The 2020 Spanish ACB League Final between Barcelona and Baskonia, Tuesday (30/6) will feature a couple of power matchups, including a clash between two of the elite power forwards in Europe: Nikola Mirotic and Tornike Shengelia.
When Baskonia coach Ivanovic was asked about the duel between Mirotic and Shengelia, he agreed that they are the best duo of power forwards in the continent. “We’ll see who is better tomorrow,” Ivanovic said with a smile.
“Modern European basketball goes towards being more about mobile players and less about big players,” Ivanovic added.
Ivanovic gave specific emphasis on Barcelona’s defensive game. “This is a strong team that tries to destroy the opponent’s offense and make them not play as usual. it’s the first thing they want to do and they do it well. We have to adapt and find a good way to attack them. They have many options in offense. Mirotic can shoot and play at the low post. Kuric, Tomic… many options.”
