Gipuzkoa won’t join the Spanish First Division in the upcoming season which is set to tip-off on September 18

ACB announced that the clubs have decided on not admitting Gipuzkoa Basket to the lineup for the next season and the field will stay at 18 clubs.

The regular season will start on September 18 while before that, the SuperCup will take place with Real Madrid, Baskonia, Tenerife and Barcelona.

Per ACB:

The ACB clubs have met this Thursday in Madrid in Ordinary General Assembly.

In the framework of the Assembly, the clubs have agreed to the non-affiliation of Donosti Gipuzkoa Basket 2001 SKE, SAD.

Likewise, the clubs have approved the start dates of the 2020-21 season. The competition will start on September 12 and 13 with the Endesa Super Cup in Tenerife. TD Systems Baskonia, Real Madrid, Barça and Iberostar Tenerife will compete for the first title of the course.

The Endesa League will begin with the first day on September 18, 19 and 20.
