The fourth Gameday of the 2020-21 Spanish League began with a team registering its first victory.

After winning the Basketball Champions League trophy, Burgos got one more win this time over fellow BCL F8 participant Zaragoza, for the Spanish Liga Endesa.

Bilbao grabbed its first win of the season with an offensive show against Obradoiro in the opener of Day 4 of the Spanish ACB League. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s clash against Gipuzkoa and Real Madrid‘s game against Gran Canaria have been postponed due to registered coronavirus cases with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Iberostar Tenerife leading the stands so far with a perfect 3-0 record.

Zaragoza – San Pablo Burgos 86-100

The Basketball Champions League trophy winners climbed to a tie for the fourth position in the league with a 3-1 record after getting the road win thanks to the trio of Alex Renfroe (19 p.), Dejan Kravic (16 p.) and Thad McFadden (14 p.), while Jasiel Rivero also scored 14 and Ken Horton added 12 points.

Robin Benzing with 20 points and Dylan Ennis with 21 tried their best for the hosts but Burgos is simply too hot right now.

 

Bilbao – Obradoiro 99 – 81

Ludde Hakanson posted a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists to lead Bilbao to the victory over Obradoiro. Jonathan Rousselle scored 16 points and dished out five assists, Jaylon Brown had 14 points and Ondrej Balvin delivered 13 points and seven rebounds.

This was the first loss for Obradoiro. Kassius Robertson had 17 points and Jake Cohen 13.

Morabanc Andorra – Joventut Badalona 87 – 89

Badalona got the away win over Andorra behind an MVP performance by Ante Tomic. The Croatian veteran center had 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists for a game-high 30 PIR. Ferran Bassas (14 points on 4-4 triples) and Nenad Dimitrijevic (12 points and seven assists) were also key to Badalona’s victory.

Joe Senglin (19 points), Clevin Hannah (17 points) and Tyler Perez (16 points, six rebounds) were the top players from Andorra.

Unicaja Malaga – Morabanc Andorra 86 – 90 

Jonathan Tabu had 17 points and Guillem Jou added 16 points as Andorra stunned Malaga on the road perhaps easier than what the final score suggests. The visiting side led 87 – 73 with five minutes to go and then Malaga made a comeback attempt that was left undone in the last minutes.

Tim Abromaitis scored 15 points and six rebounds while Axel Bouteille dropped 14 points for Malaga.

Fuenlabrada – Estudiantes 81-82

Estudiantes grabbed the win in a thriller that was decided in the final seconds, led by Aleksa Avramovic with 20 points while Victor Artega scored 16 and Alessandro Gentile 12 points.

For Fuenlabrada, Melo Trimble was on fire with 28 points on 5-8 from deep followed by Obi Emegano with 15 points.

Baskonia – Murcia 75-83

David DiLeo scored 22 points and Conner Frankamp 17 points as Murcia got away with a road win against Baskonia. DJ Strawberry added nine points.

Alec Peters had 15 for the other side followed by Achille Polonara with 12 and Pierria Henry with ten points.

Real Betis – Valencia 95-85

Another EuroLeague squad suffered a loss and Real Betis was the one to hand it, led by James Feldeine’s 26 points on 9-12 shooting including 4-7 from deep.

Obi Enechionya added 15 and Mamadou Niang 13 points. On the other side, Bojan Dubljevic logged 14 points and nine rebounds while Louis Labeyrie helped with 13 points.

Herbalife Gran Canaria – Real Madrid 65-90

About one week separated from its original scheduling, the Whites dominated at Las Palmas. A balanced scoring effort resulted in Edy Tavares banking in 15 points with 6/8 field goals. Gabriel Deck followed with 14.

Stan Okoye put up a team-high 12 points for the hosts.
