Real Madrid moves to Final with strong second half

Tenerife dominated most of the first half of the game until a strong response by Real.

Real Madrid came back from 18 points down in the first half against Lenovo Tenerife to win 85 – 79 and become the first team to advance to the Spanish Copa del Rey Final.

Gabriel Deck scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Fabien Causeur added 18 points as well. Sergio Llull contirbuted 11 points plus five assists and Jaycee Carroll also dropped 11 points.

Marcelinho Huertas (22 points, five assists), Fran Guerra (13 points) and Bruno Fitipaldo (11 points) scored in double figures for Tenerife. Txus Vidorreta’s team went up 22 – 40 in the first half before Real put on a reaction that helped them close halftime down 40 – 46.

Real completed the turnaround in the third period, closing the quarter ahead 65 – 62 and then establishing a steady lead. Fabien Causeur hit the triple for the 79 – 82 with with three minutes to play to hand his team a three-possession deficit down the stretch. Tenerife managed to make it 83 – 79 with 13 seconds to play but that was the closer they go.
