Barcelona will be facing Real Madrid in the Spanish ACB League Clasico Sunday (11/4) and will look to extend its streak against its archrival to five straight wins.

“Winning against Madrid so many times in a row is good and we want to continue that streak, although without obsessing and with great respect for our opponents,” Barcelona star forward Nikola Mirotic said per Mundo Deportivo. “They re doing very well, especially in the Spanish League.”

Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the first 2020-21 clash between the two teams that took place in the Final of the Supercup tournament. Since then, the Blaugrana swept their archrival in EuroLeague while defeating them in the Copa del Rey championship game and during the first leg of the ACB regular season. Mirotic registered an ACB career-high 26 points plus 10 rebounds in the latter.

This upcoming match will be decisive in the pursuit of the first place in the ACB, since Real leads the standings at 27 – 1 over Barcelona’s 25 – 3.

“For us, home-court factor is very important,” Mirotic said. “It’s not key but it’s still important and we want to fight for it until the last game. By beating them tomorrow, we’d be only one game away and that’s why it’s key to take the victory.”
