Real Madrid takes down Barcelona in ACB Clasico

Real Madrid dropped a double-digit lead but claimed the 87-85 victory versus FC Barcelona on Sunday.

A crazy finish in the ACB Round 30 contest saw Nikola Mirotic with a contested triple sending Barca to its first lead with eight seconds left. Nicolas Laprovíttola in an immediate response with a three-point play got the job done.

Rudy Fernandez went 3/5 from beyond the arc producing a team-high 13 points. Youngsters Tristan Vukcevic and Usman Garuba had 11 points each. Fabien Causeur made all of his ten points in the final quarter.

Cory Higgins netted a game-high 21 points and Nick Calathes finished with 18 points. Mirotic with 17 points and Kyle Kuric with 12 shaped the remaining double-digit scoring pack.

The Whites jumping to 28-1 and forcing Barca to 25-4 all but secures top position in the Regular Season standings.

Apart from the Clasico, Marcelinho Huertas climbed to second place in the ACB all-time assists list helping third-placed Tenerife defeat Estudiantes, 101-77, and up its record to 23-5. Baskonia dropped to 21-8 off an overtime loss to Murcia.
