Vincent Poirier confirmed on French television that he is joining Real Madrid.
Poirier, 27, noted he will travel to Spain’s capital tomorrow, Monday, during Sunday’s Jeep Elite Pro A Regular Season game between Boulogne Metropolitans 92 and Orleans. The hosts prevailed, 87-65, improving to 12-7.
The French forward/center after becoming an NBA unrestricted free agent agreed to help the Whites for the remainder of the 2020-21 ACB season and for the next three seasons across all competitions. He will not be eligible for the approaching Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs.
He spent the last two seasons in the NBA making his way to 32 games between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. He was traded to the New York Knicks last month and was waived.
