Luke Maye scored 20 points in 21 minutes to lead BAXI Manresa to a 86 – 75 win on the road over Real Madrid for the Spanish ACB League. Manresa, that has now claimed away victories against both Barcelona and Real in the 2021-22 season, moved to 16-8 and remains fourth in the standings.

This was the fifth straight ACB defeat for the Real in Madrid after the games vs. Barcelona, Andorra, Valencia and Baskonia. The Blancos dropped to 18 – 6 and lost ground in the battle for the first place vs. Barca (18 – 4 with two games less).

Daniel Perez added 17 points, Elias Valtonen scored 14 while Chima Moneke finished with 14 points plus nine rebounds for Manresa that dominated the second half to get the win.

Real was up 41 – 34 at the break but Maye dropped 12 points over four minutes in the third period and Manresa went on to have a 2 – 15 run to get a 55 – 64 advantage shortly before the end of the quarter. The visiting side even got a 15-point advantage (59 – 74) with seven minutes to play and stayed in complete control for the rest of the game.

Gabriel Deck (21 points, six rebounds), Guerschon Yabusele (15 points, eight rebounds) and Rudy Fernandez (15 points, six rebounds) stood out from Real that had a particularly off night from long range with 6-30 on 3-pointers. Sergio Llull went 0 – 11.
