Another season in Spain’s Liga Endesa coming up for experienced guard Alex Renfroe

Readying to compete in Spain’s Liga Endesa after the promotion from LEB Oro, Coviran Granada boosted the squad with experience in the form of Alex Renfroe.

Renfroe, 36, inked a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday morning following Eurohoops’ report on the two sides nearing a deal.

Renfroe is a veteran of 128 games played between Hereda San Pablo Burgos, Baxi Manresa, Barcelona Lassa, Laboral Kutxa Baskonia, and Blancos de Rueda Valladolid in the ACB. Spain has covered a large chunk of his lengthy professional career additionally stretching to Russia, Serbia, Germany, Croatia, and Latvia over the years.

The former Belmont standout averaged 8.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per contest in 2021-22, the 13th campaign of his professional career and second at Burgos. During the two years at Burgos, he celebrated a couple of titles in the Basketball Champions League in 2020 and 2021, plus the 2021 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Granada re-signed David Iriarte early today, Tuesday. Reinforcing the squad with Dejan Todorovic and Luke Maye highlighted the offseason so far. Lluis Costa, Christian Diaz, Thomas Bropleh, Pere Tomas, Jacobo Diaz, Ramon Vila, and Petit Niang are also confirmed in the 2022-23 squad with Pablo Pin staying as head coach.
