Canadian shooting guard Kassius Robertson scored 44 points, a new career-high that was not enough for Monbus Obradoiro against Cazoo Baskonia in Fernando Buesa Arena.

Robertson, 28, tucked in 9/14 three-pointers Wednesday. Despite making 14/21 from the field and all of his seven free-throw attempts, his side struggled to build around the hot shooting and was forced down to 12-16 in Liga Endesa. Trailing in double-digits most of the 40 minutes of the Regular Season Round 28 contest, Obradoiro lost 110-94.

Securing yet another win in the 2022-23 edition of Spain’s top-tier division, Joan Penarroya’s side jumped to 23-5. Max Heidegger tallied 26 points behind 7/8 from beyond the arc. Darius Thompson paired his 20 points with nine assists. Missing for the team coached by Joan Penarroya, Steven Enoch did not suit up joining Tadas Sedekerskis (leg) and Pierria Henry (suspension) on the list of unavailable players.

Instantly rejoining Baskonia on top of the standings, FC Barcelona yielded the win, 70-55, on the road against Coviran Granada. Nikola Mirotic had a team-high 13 points to go with six rebounds and two assists. At the opposite end, Barca youth product Lluis Costa poured a game-high 16 points.

Oscar da Silva was a healthy scratch for the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius. Jan Vesely (knee), Alex Abrines (foot), and Cory Higgins (back) were all sidelined after early exits from the most recent Clasico.

Real Madrid overpowers Marc Gasol, Valencia falls to Murcia

Elsewhere, Real Madrid handled Marc Gasol and Girona for the win, 89-70. The former NBA All-Star and 2019 champion registered a team-high 14 points on the way to a 9-19 team record.

For the hosts guided by Chus Mateo up to 22-6, Guerschon Yabusele stood out with 15 points. Dzanan Musa packing 13 points, Anthony Randolph with 12 points, and Fabien Causeur logging ten points were the rest of the double-digit scoring contributions. Yet to be cleared to return to action, Carlos Alocen (knee) and Vincent Poirier (abdomen) were accompanied by Mario Hezonja and Gabriel Deck out of the lineup.

Strengthening the bid for a berth in the Playoffs, UCAM Murcia logged the home win, 90-82, against Valencia. Veteran combo guard Thad McFadden paved the way with five triples and 21 points.
