Nikola Mirotic scored 28 points on 7-10 3-pointers as Barcelona beat Valencia in Game 1 of the Spanish ACB League quarterfinals.
The two sides were close only for 20 minutes. After halftime, that ended 40 – 37, Barcelona turned on the offensive with 29 points in the third period against Valencia‘s 18 to grab a double-digit advantage. The hosts remained in the driver’s seat, keeping their opponents at least at a three-possession distance.
Mirotic had eight of his points in the decisive third quarter. Tomas Satoransky had 7 out of his 14 points during that stretch while also contributing seven assists and five rebounds. Kyle Kuric also dropped 14 points.
Chris Jones led Valencia with 18 points and eight assists while Jared Harper scored 15.
