Barcelona was simply unstoppable in the fourth period to go up 1-0 against Real Madrid.

Seven players scored in double figures for Barcelona as their team beat Real Madrid 97 – 88 in Game 1 of the Spanish ACB League Finals. A decisive 11-0 run at the beginning of the fourth quarter proved to be the key to win for the Blaugrana.

Nicolas Laprovittola led all scorers with 19 points, dropping nine of them in the fourth period. Nikola Mirotic also stepped up big in the last quarter with 10 out of his 14 points as Barcelona outplayed Real 34 – 27 to get the win. He also had seven rebounds.

With Real up 63 – 64 with 10 minutes to play, Barca scored 11 in a row without any response from the visiting side. When the Blancos cut their deficit to 74 – 70, their opponents re-established a double-digit advantage, making it 80 – 70. They never allowed the margin to fall below five for the rest of the game.

Sergio Rodriguez (16 points), Edy Tavares (15 points, seven rebounds) and Sergio Llull (14 points) stood out for Real that led 47 – 50 at halftime.

Sertac Sanli delivered 14 points on 4-6 triples for Barca.
