Shaking off a slow start and an eight-point deficit in the first quarter, Real Madrid produced a convincing win, 94-75, against UCAM Murcia on Sunday.

Six players scored in double-digits, including Walter Tavares combining his game-high 18 points with eight rebounds and Facundo Campazzo posting a 14-point, 10-assist double-double. Rudy Fernandez (ankle), Alberto Abalde, and Carlos Alocen (knee) did not suit up for Round 5 of Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season.

With Sito Alonso’s side falling to 3-2, Simon Birgander and Dylan Ennis stood out with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Experienced guard Thad McFadden (ankle) was sidelined.

Leading ACB, the team coached by Chus Mateo improved to 5-0 and also remained unscratched over 28 home games opposite the Universitarios.

Road wins for Valencia, Baskonia and Barcelona

All four Spanish Euroleague sides got wins in Round 5 of ACB League, with Valencia winning 59-61 in a tight finish against Breogan.

Chris Jones led the Alex Mumbru’s team with 17 points, while Brandon Davies had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Matas Jogela was the top scorer for the host with 14 points, as Juan Fernandez added 13 points with eight boards.

Baskonia also won in a tight finish on the road, defeating Zaragoza 80-85, after the hosts came back in the final period from a 15-point deficit, but couldn’t prevail over Joan Penarroya’s team.

Vanja Marinkovic stole the show shooting 5/9 from beyond the arc for 19 points, while Cody Miller McIntyre added 15 points, and Marcus Howard 12 for Baskonia.

Mark Smith led Zaragoza with 22 points, Jahlil Okafor was a rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points, while Emir Sulejmanovic finished with 12 points.

And the last Spanish representative in the EuroLeague to take the court today, Barcelona, grabbed a road 73-83 win in derby of the round against Gran Canaria.

Rokas Jokubaitis had 14 points and six rebounds for Barca, while Willy Hernangomez and Joel Parra each added 11.

Nicolas Brussino led the EuroCup winners with 18 points, while Ben Lammers put on a good fight under the rims with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Real Madrid stays the only perfect team in the League with 5-0 score, while Valencia, Baskonia and Barcelona are all on 4-1.
