Wrapping up the week, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona recover from Turkish Airlines EuroLeague losses

Willy Hernangomez had 20 points and nine rebounds to push Barcelona past Coviran Granada 94 – 61 on the road in a game for Round 19 of the Spanish ACB League regular season. The Blaugrana put on a strong performance to bounce back to victories after an away defeat to Anadolu Efes in the EuroLeague.

Barca was up 32 – 42 at halftime and then dominated the third quarter to extend its lead to 20 (47 – 67), proceeding to turn the game into a blowout. Tomas Satoransky contributed 15 points to the winning side while Jabari Parker and Dario Brizuela scored 10 apiece as their team improved to 13 – 6.

Kwan Cheatham (20 points) was the only Granada player in double figures. His team is now 6 – 13.

Barcelona, still without leading scorer Nicolas Laprovittola, will be facing Olimpia Milano in Italy Friday (26/1) in EuroLeague.

Real Madrid snaps rare losing streak

Coming off defeats to UCAM Murcia and AS Monaco, Real Madrid dominated Surne Bilbao en route to a 95-80 victory in WiZink Center on Sunday.

Ending up with 16 points, Guerschon Yabusele was the top scorer for the team coached by Chus Mateo. Dzanan Musa followed with 11 points. Alberto Abalde and Vincent Poirier threw in 11 points each. Facundo Campazzo posted a 10-point, 10-assist double-double.

Fabien Causeur sat out alongside Walter Tavares (right ankle) and Sergio Llull (right foot) in Round 19 of Spain’s Liga Endesa.

With the visitors reducing the deficit, Tryggvi Hlinason logged ten of his season-high 19 points in the fourth period.

Wins for Baskonia and Valencia

Markus Howard had 28 points and Chima Moneke added 26 more points as Baskonia knocked down MoraBanc Andorra, 108-95. Chris Chiozza (right knee sprain) stayed on the injury list.

Elsewhere, Valencia rallied past Casademont Zaragoza, 85-75. Semi Ojeleye fired in 21 points, matching his season-high.
