Beating consecutively UCAM Murcia, Valencia, and Barcelona in the 2024 Copa del Rey, Real Madrid captured the umpteenth title, confirming the status of an unbeatable giant powerhouse both in the EuroLeague and in the ACB.
Despite starting from the bench in the Spanish team’s rotations, Vincent Poirier has stolen the show against Real Madrid‘s fiercest rivals in the final, contributing to his side’s victory by going close to a double-double of 17 points and 8 rebounds, shooting perfectly (7/7 FG, 3/3 FT).
Talking to Tirando A Fallar in the aftermath of the encounter, he said he didn’t “really care about the MVP”, which was assigned to Facundo Campazzo, who “deserves it too”, Vincent Poirier added. “Barcelona is a good team, we know it and it was very difficult. We won with all the difficulty”, the French center added about winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
Moreover, he has been delivering in replacing Walter Tavares so far this season, considering the Capoverdian center’s injury situation. “He has been out for one month due to injury and it’s difficult for him to come back to his best level, and I’m here for this reason: being the substitute and doing my best I can to help the team.
