This Saturday, Athletic Club will have the opportunity to make history, fighting for the 2024 Copa del Rey against Mallorca. They haven’t won the trophy in exactly 40 years.
To celebrate such a potentially historic occasion, Surne Bilbao Basket decided to honor the Basque city’s football representative by rocking a new limited-edition jersey against Dreamland Gran Canaria. They will play on Saturday at 17:00 CET, four years prior to the big football game in Sevilla.
The newest jersey will have a lion on the front and a red-and-white stripe on the back, reminding to Athletic Club’s colors.
Surne Bilbao Basket is currently 11th in the ACB standings with a 12-15, still in the race for the Playoffs. In the FIBA Europe Cup, instead, despite winning Game 2 of the semifinals against Niners Chemnitz, they were eliminated from the competition, ending with a 16-point deficit against the German team.
