Dzanan Musa dropped 26 points and led seven Real Madrid players in double figures as his team crushed Gran Canaria 105 – 70 in Game 1 of the Spanish ACB League playoffs.
It was quite the statement performance by Real Madrid, almost a week before the EuroLeague Final Four where the Blancos will try to defend their title. After a relatively close (46 – 38) first half, the hosts turned their engines in the third period to extend the lead beyond 20+ and never let their feet off the gas.
Apart from Musa, Vincent Poirier had 16 points plus five rebounds and Sergio Llull added 13 points. Newly crowned ACB MVP Facu Campazo dished out seven assists, to go with his five points and five rebounds.
John Shurna (12 points) and Ethan Happ (10 points) stood out from Gran Canaria.
