Real Madrid continues to rack up victories in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
After qualifying for the Euroleague playoffs, the Whites earned another victory against Morabanc Andorra (98-97) to remain at the top of their domestic league standings.
As the result indicates, winning was much harder fought than the one against Bayern, with a final-second outcome.
Shannon Evans (31 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists) had kept the Pyrenees team alive, Kyle Kuric almost became the hero in the final second with two consecutive three-pointers.
What was awarded on the court as three points for the 98-98 scoreline and overtime was revised to a two-pointer after instant replay.
Musa (21 points and 4 rebounds), Ibaka (14 points and 7 rebounds) and Hezonja (12 points and 2 assists) were the best for Real Madrid.
Barcelona wins, Baskonia loses
Barcelona also grabbed a win in Round 28, taking down Gran Canaria at home 104–90, behind 18 points from Dario Brizuela and 17 from Kevin Punter.
Talented youngster Mathieu Grujicic also made his debut for the first team, and Barcelona is now set to meet Monaco at the start of the EuroLeague Playoffs.
As for Gran Canaria, John Shurna scored 23 points, Mike Tobey added 16 along with five rebounds, while George Conditt and Joe Thomasson followed with 10 points each.
While Real Madrid and Barcelona emerged victorious, Baskonia fell to Tenerife 89–93 at the Fernando Buesa Arena.
David Krämer led the winning team with 20 points, Marcelinho Huertas followed with 19 and nine assists, while Tim Abromaitis contributed 13 points.
Markus Howard’s 19 points weren’t enough for Baskonia, while Trent Forrest and Nikos Rogkavopoulos followed with 15 points each. Pablo Laso’s side is now in danger of missing out on the ACB Playoffs, currently sitting in ninth place in the standings with a 14-14 record.
