Valencia has been one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in the whole season, both domestically in the ACB and in Europe, playing a fast-paced type of basketball in the BKT EuroCup as well.
Game 1 of their ACB Semi-Finals against La Laguna Tenerife was no exception, as Pedro Martinez’s team won 83-65 to lead 1-0 in one of the most anticipated series of these playoffs.
Receiving the MVP of the Month for May before the game, Jean Montero celebrated with a 16-point winning effort. Chris Jones (14 points) and Jaime Pradilla (14 points and 10 boards) followed.
The eternal Marcelinho Huertas had 18 points and 5 assists in his team’s loss; former Valencia forward Aaron Doornekamp had 17 points over 5/8 from deep for Tenerife.
Valencia and Tenerife, respectively, got over Gran Canaria and Joventut Badalona to reach this stage.
The other Semi-Final series in Spain will see Real Madrid go up against Unicaja Malaga, as the two teams respectively eliminated Baskonia and Barcelona in the Quarter-Finals.
