Third defeat of the season at home for Los Blancos after a great performance from Marcelinho Huertas and Patty Mills

Real Madrid had only lost two games at the Movistar Arena—one in Liga Endesa and one in the EuroLeague—an excellent record that has now taken a slight hit.

La Laguna Tenerife secured a 90–95 victory, taking the win in the Spanish capital to move to a 17–10 record. Los Blancos now stand at 24–3, still three wins ahead of Valencia Basket.

Without Mario Hezonja, who was rested for the game, Real Madrid’s top scorer was Walter Tavares with 18 points.

Unsurprisingly, the visitors’ win was built on the team’s veteran core: Marcelinho Huertas (25 points), Giorgi Shermadini (16 points), and Patty Mills (18 points) led the triumph.

The away victory was a matter of consistency, as after a 21–26 first quarter, La Laguna Tenerife stayed ahead on the scoreboard for the rest of the game.

Although Los Blancos cut the deficit to just two points (81–83), the Tenerife side managed to withstand the home team’s push and escape Madrid with the win.
