UCAM Murcia refused to go away quietly, defeating Barcelona 90-87 on the road to level the ACB quarterfinal series and force a decisive Game 3.
David DeJulius led all scorers with 22 points, while Michael Forrest and Kelan Martin provided valuable support on the offensive end. For Barcelona, Toko Shengelia and Kevin Punter were the main contributors.
After being dominated in Game 1, Murcia responded with a completely different performance. Sito Alonso’s side relied heavily on a zone defense throughout the game, and Barcelona struggled to find answers. The visitors took an early lead and held a narrow 43-40 advantage at halftime.
Barcelona finally moved in front early in the second half and appeared ready to take control after opening a 55-49 lead. However, Murcia answered back and entered the final quarter ahead 67-66.
The game remained tight until the closing moments, with Kelan Martin playing a key role down the stretch. Murcia held on in a tense finish to secure a huge road victory and send the series to a winner-takes-all Game 3.
