SD Espanyol Cornella officially finalized an impressive addition to its roster on Monday, securing the standout signing of veteran Spanish winger Xavi Rabaseda in a move that instantly made waves.
The club announced the acquisition as a defining piece for their competitive project in the Tercera FEB, the fourth tier of Spain, bringing a massive influx of elite experience, defensive talent, and leadership to the squad.

This signing marks a highly symbolic emotional reunion for the player, as he spent his definitive developmental years playing for CB Cornella from 2007 to 2009. The 37-year-old forward went on to build an illustrious career at the absolute highest levels of European basketball, having spent years anchoring defensive schemes across major domestic clubs. His development began in the prestigious youth system of FC Barcelona, establishing a solid foundation followed by tenures with Fuenlabrada, Movistar Estudiantes, Herbalife Gran Canaria, and Hereda San Pablo Burgos.
Beyond his extensive resume, including a EuroLeague and a Liga Endesa championship with Barca, back-to-back Basketball Champions League titles with Burgos, and a FIBA Europe Cup championship with Bilbao, Rabaseda achieved the pinnacle of international success on the global stage, most notably touching the sky as a World Cup winner with the Spanish national team in 2019.
