Perhaps April should be renamed as “official Darius Adams month” in the Baskonia calendar. After his wondrous games in the Euroleague playoff series vs Panathinaikos, the American guard struck again.

By scoring 41 points in the 108  -97 road victory of Laboral Kutxa vs Fuenlabrada Darius Adams definitely delivered one of the most epic performances we have seen in the recent years in Liga Endesa.

Thus he was named MVP of Day 29 of the Spanish league, finishing the game with 33 points in the evaluation system, after also grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing 3 assists.

But it was all about scoring for the American guard who entered the game with lava on his hands, scoring 25 out of his 41 points in the first quarter (!) and finishing the first half with 30 points. He finished the game with an excellent 12/15 in his two-pointers while he had 4/11 from downtown.

Adams also broke some records in the process of registering that impressive number of 41 points. He became the only active player in Liga Endesa to reach that total and just the third player after Gerald Fitch (41 points, 2009) and Jacob Pullen (42 points, 2014) to score 40+ points in a single game, during the last decade.

Who was the previous Baskonia player who scored 41 points? Joe Arlauckas in 1991. 25 years ago, mind you. In 2002, Luis Scola was close to that number but finished with 40 points in a game of Baskonia vs Breogan.
