A tough battle against Joventut Badalona which served as an ideal preparation for the Final Four

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

In its last game before going to Berlin for the Euroleague Final Four, Laboral Kutxa (22-9) outscored Joventut Badalona (11-20) 102 – 99 for the Liga Endesa in a shootout of 26 three-pointers that contributed to the teams’ impressive scoring spree.

Refusing to leave the “zone” which he has been deep in during the last weeks, Darius Adams dropped 32 points on his opponents with 7/10 three-pointers, while Adam Hanga added 22 points plus 7 rebounds.

Brandon Paul and Sergi Vidal stood out among their teammates in Badalona with 22 and 21 points respectively.

The game had a great deal of changes in the lead since both teams were extremely dangerous when they were getting the rhythm going. Badalona was the team with a small edge three minutes into the fourth quarter, when they made the score 75 – 81.

But as we said, this was a game where anything could change in the blink of an eye. Laboral Kutxa ran a very quick 16 – 2 partial score that brought them ahead 91 – 83.  Baskonia never intended to leave the driver’s seat until the final buzzer. When their opponents began to appear threatening again, with Desmond Mallet making it 94 – 91 with less than two minutes to go, Darius Adams put his team at a safe distance and then his teammates were perfect from the free-throw line.
