Pablo Laso’s team grabbed its 27th overall Copa Del Rey, after a thrilling final against Valencia!

Real Madrid got its 4th in a row and 27th Copa Del Rey title, after outlasting Valencia 97-95 in the final.

Sergio Llull who was named MVP for the second straight year, led with 22 points, Anthony Randolph scored 20, Gustavo Ayon added 18, while Jaycee Carroll finished with 14.

Real Madrid was able to grab the lead early on, leading the first quarter 22-16. Still leading, Carroll placed Pablo Laso’s team up by 10 at 17′, 43-33. Valencia trimmed the deficit and with a buzzer-beater shot by San Emeterio followed just 2 points behind at halftime, 47-45, a partial score of 4-12!

Pedro Martinez’s team followed close behind in the third quarter, but never managed to get the lead. Dubljevic (28 points) tied the score at 71 points with 21 seconds remaining, yet Llull was there to bury a 3-pointer at the end of the period, placing Real up 74-71.

At 34′, Real was up 87-81, yet a little later on, Sikma brought Valencia again as close as to 2 points. Until the end, the game was a real thriller. San Emeterio (17 points) drilled another three a second before the end, yet Valencia’s fate was sealed.
