Baskonia controlled most aspects of the game against Bilbao down the stretch and was the winner the Basque Country derby of the Spanish League.

Thanks to a 2-10 partial score in the last three minutes, Baskonia managed to beat Bilbao 64 – 75 on the road and improve its Spanish League record to 21 – 9, catching up with Barcelona at the third seed.

This defeat completely trimmed the playoff hopes of Bilbao, that is currently ninth with 14 – 16. Eighth Andorra (16 – 14 record) mathematically got the postseason ticket.

Adam Hanga was a captain indeed for Baskonia in the decisive plays of the final minutes where he scored five out of his 12 points, including the 3-point “dagger” for the 64 – 74 with 52 seconds remaining.

Rodrigue Beaubois led the winners with 18 while Tornike Shengelia had 12. The top performer of Baskonia was Johannes Voigtmann after 6 points, 10 rebounds plus 4 assists.

For Bilbao, Ivan Buva had 15 points plus 8 rebounds and Alex Mumbru scored 11.
