Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu talked about what the future may hold for the club after the Catalan independence referendum voting. And this future obviously involves the basketball department of the franchise as well.

“We are facing a complicated situation regarding what may happen in the future regarding the independence of Catalonia and where will Barcelona compete. It’s something that we will address when the time comes to discuss it with the management and we will do so taking into account common sense,” said Bartomeu.

Bartomeu’s press conference after the end of an extraordinary meeting of the club’s directors that was held following yesterday’s (1/10) home game of Barcelona vs Las Palmas for La Liga. The match was played behind closed doors amid unrest in the city and Catalonia in general due to the referendum voting and the police using excessive violence on protestors.
