According to the official website of Real Madrid, this makes him the best foreign debutant of the club in the ACB since Dejan Bodiroga claimed a performance index rating of 30 in the 1996/97 season.

The small forward scored 19 points, missing the basket just once (5/5 on two-pointers, 2/3 on triples and 3/3 on free throws), whilst grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists. It has been 21 seasons since a foreign player produced such a fine debut showing.

Causeur’s debut performance ranks as the fifth best made by a foreign player in Real Madrid‘s ACB history. Sabonis holds the record with a performance index rating of 40 in the 1992/93 season (27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists). The second spot belongs to Piculín Ortíz, who posted a PIR of 35 in the 1990/91 season. Next up it’s Savic’s 1995/1996 debut and Bodiroga in the 1996/97 campaign, who both posted PIRs of 30.
