Baskonia defeated Unicaja 73 – 72 in Málaga to conclude the Round 7 of the Spanish League.
The home team had early leads thanks to the offensive rebound and reached the half with an 8 point lead (35 – 43). Baskonia reacted in the third quarter with a 16-1 run and the game was close since then.
With less than 10 seconds remaining Johannes Voigtmann made a layup to put Baskonia in front. Nemanja Nedovic had the game winner but he missed the three-pointer.
Toko Shengelia and Rodrigue Beaubois scored 15 points each, pacing the guests. Shermadini achieved a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Unicaja.
Over the day, Barcelona smashed Bilbao Basket on the road with a 104 – 83 victory after a great first half. Thomas Heurtel had a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists while Adam Hanga scored 15 for Sito Alonso’s men.
Meanwhile, Valencia suffered more than it was expected to get the home win against San Pablo Burgos with 87 – 78. Erick Green led all scorers with 21 points and Bojan Dubljevic also contributed with 12 and 9 rebounds.
Yesterday, Real Madrid kept its record perfect after defeating Iberostar Tenerife on the road.
