Real Madrid got the win over Iberostar Tenerife 89 – 76 in the last Spanish League game before Copa del Rey. The hosts back to wins after three consecutive defeats among all competitions.
After a great first quarter, Tenerife failed to score for more than six minutes and Real Madrid took the lead with a 12 – 0 run (30 – 21, 17′). Pablo Laso’s men had one of their best defensives games of the season and Tenerife had no chance.
Facundo Campazzo put on a show in the second period and Madrid had a comfortable ending. The Argentinian led the winners with 15 points and 8 assists while Jaycee Carroll and Fabien Causeur added 13 apiece.
Javi Beiran held the visiting side in the first half with 4-of-4 from beyond the arc and he finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Tim Abromaitis had 21, 5 and 5.
Early today, Barcelona and Valencia Basket had easy wins. Coach Svetislav Pesic returned to the “Blaugranas” with a victory over Bilbao Basket while Valencia defeated Burgos with Erick Green scoring 22 points.
On Saturday, Baskonia defeated Unicaja thanks to a great third quarter.
