Ante Tomic dominated inside the paint with a double-double of 20 points plus 10 rebounds for 31 PIR, as Barcelona routed Fuenlabrada 93 – 75 on the road for Round 30 of the Spanish ACB League and mathematically clinched a playoff spot.
Fuenlabrada was up 41 – 40 at halftime but got overwhelmed 8 – 26 in the third quarter. Barcelona held onto a more than safe lead for the remainder of the game.
The Blaugrana were diverse in their offensive game with five more players scoring in double figures, apart from Tomic. Petteri Koponen and Pierre Oriola dropped 14 points each, Pau Ribas had 13 points (plus six assists) while Adrien Moerman and Thomas Heurtel added 11 points.
Ronald Smits finished with 22 points, Marko Popovic with 17 and Pako Cruz with 15 for Fuenlabrada that fell 10th with a 15 – 15 record. Barcelona, on the other hand, climbed second with 21 – 9.
