Real Madrid defeated Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz 101 – 89 winning its sixth straight game. Madrid improved to an impressive 27-3 record and thus will finish the regular season at the top of the Spanish League.

Baskonia challenged the hosts early on in the first quarter (26-25), but since the start of the second period, Real Madrid controlled the game with Sergio Llull and Trey Thompkins leading the way (52-44) at the half. In the third and fourth periods, Laso’s team had a solid lead throughout, and Baskonia could not cut the deficit and challenge Real.

Madrid had six players in double-figures as Thompkins (17 pts), Llull (14 pts), Felipe Reyes (14 pts), Rudy Fernandez (16 pts), Fabien Causeur (11 pts) and Jaycee Carroll (13 pts) all scored 10+ points. For the losing side, Luca Vildoza put up 22 points.

Luka Doncic did not play in the game as he suffered pain in his foot, while the ‘Unicorn’ Kristaps Porzingis was in attendance to watch his fellow Latvian teammate, Janis Timma.
