Real Madrid became the first club ever to win both basketball EuroLeague and football Champions League in the same year. In the pre-game comments, coach Pablo Laso showed respect to the legendary football player and now coach Zinedine Zidane but didn’t want to compare their successes as he kept the focus on the upcoming challenge against Gran Canaria:

“I’m not Zidane. What Zidane does, it makes me very happy for him. The fact he won’t stay as the coach of our club makes me sad because he has given a lot to this entity. I have great respect for what he has done, but Zidane is Zidane and Pablo Laso is Pablo Laso and all he is thinking about now is winning against Gran Canaria.”, the coach said, per Marca.

Real Madrid will face Gran Canaria in the ACB League semifinals and the first game of best-of-five series is scheduled for Sunday 3rd of June.
