Baskonia faced no problems against Unicaja Malaga in spite of Tornike Shengelia’s absence.

Johannes Voigtmann had an all-around outing of 11 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists as Baskonia defeated Unicaja Malaga 81 – 64 on the road for Round 13 of the ACB regular season.

Baskonia was without forward Tornike Shengelia but held control over their opponents throughout the whole game. They closed halftime up 27 – 45 and got a 22-point lead, 33 – 55, in the mid of the third period.

Malaga failed to become competitive and only managed to reduce their deficit down the stretch when with the score 54 – 79 and five minutes to play, Baskonia scored only two points.

Luca Vildoza scored a team-high 14 points and Matt Janning had 13 points for Baskonia that is now 10 – 3. Brian Roberts (18 points) stood out from Malaga that dropped to 9 – 4.

In the game that completed Round 13 in ACB, Zaragoza beat Gran Canaria 71 – 69 thanks to a game-winning trio of free throws by Stan Okoye in the last seconds. Okoye had a game-high 22 points while Marcus Eriksson scored 14 points for the team from Las Palmas.

Earlier Friday (23/12), Real Madrid downed Murcia. On Saturday, Barcelona crushed San Sebastian away from home.
