Shavon Shields scored a Spanish League season-high 21 points as Baskonia beat San Sebastian 87 – 77 on the road.
This result improved Baskonia‘s ACB record to 24 – 7 and keeps them in pursuit of Barcelona (24 – 6 with 30 games) and Real Madrid (25 – 6). Meanwhile, San Sebastian has dropped to the relegation zone with a 10 – 21 record. Maik Zeisloft had 24 points for the losing side.
Baskonia entered the fourth period up 52 – 70 after outplaying its opponents 13 – 25 in the third quarter. San Sebastian tried to fight back but never managed to cut its deficit to lower than double figures.
Apart from Shields, Luca Vildoza contributed 14 points, five assists and four assists to Baskonia. Tornike Shengelia scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Darrun Hilliard 13 points and Vincent Poirier 11 points and eight boards.
