Dragan Milosavljevic scored 24 out of his 28 points in the second half and had his only miss two minutes before the end, as Unicaja Malaga defeated Valencia 85 – 78 on the road to take a 1-0 lead in the Spanish ACB League quarterfinal series.

Malaga can advance with a win at home Sunday (2/6) while Valencia, the reigning EuroCup champion, has a “do-or-die” away game to play.

Thanks to Milosavlevic draining 5/5 3-pointers in the third period, Malaga assumed control of the game after trailing 45 – 40 near the start of the second half. Valencia fell behind by double digits, 60 – 72 following a 3-pointer by Adam Waczynski (16 points) at the beginning of the fourth period and never managed to cut its deficit lower than six points.

Sam Van Rossom had 15 points and seven assists for Valencia. Will Thomas added 11 points and five rebounds.
