Estudiantes announced that the club has matched Valencia’s offer for Spanish guard Dario Brizuela in order to retain the player’s rights, per the “Tanteo” rule of ACB.
Brizuela, 24, had received an offer by Valencia which Estudiantes had the right to match in order to keep him on board. The Madrid side did so and will thus keep the player for the upcoming season.
Estudiantes also announced that the club has filed a complaint with the ACB regarding Valencia‘s offer to the player that “contained elements that could violate the contract system of the Agreement.”
Brizuela averaged 14.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 13.3 PIR in 30 games of the 2018-2019 ACB.
