Brandon Davies scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Barcelona to a 95 – 87 overtime win over Baskonia in Day 2 of the Spanish ACB League.

Among other things, Davies also drained one of the most crucial baskets of the game. With the score 88 – 85 and 80 seconds remaining following an unsportsmanlike foul by Pierria Henry on Nikola Mirotic, Davies drained the 3-pointer that put his team up by six.

Malcolm Delaney then preserved his team’s advantage with a lay-up while Baskonia‘s Achille Polonara’s missed 3-pointer, more or less, sealed the fate of the game in favor of the Blaugrana.

Baskonia was up 63 – 71 with eight minutes left in the regulation, thanks to Tornike Shengelia (16 points), Patricio Garino (14 points) and Youssoupha Fall (12 points, 12 rebounds). Barca, however, reacted and Cory Higgins scored the basket that tied the game with 37 seconds remaining. The American guard had a chance to win the game but Garino blocked his jump-shot attempt to force the extra period.

Nikola Mirotic added 22 points and six rebounds for Barcelona. Delaney and Higgins scored 14 and 10 respectively.
