Bilbao became the first team to beat Real Madrid this season in Spain. Axel Bouteille scored 22 points and Jaylon Brown added 21 points as Bilbao downed the reigning champions 82 – 81 in overtime in Round 9 of the ACB regular season to improve to 5-4.

Ondrej Balvin was the one drain the go-ahead free throw for Bilbao with two minutes remaining. Both teams failed to connect to the basket in the remainder of the match and Trey Thompkins misfired in the game-winning attempt for Real in the final second. It was the first defeat for the “Blancos” after two Supercup and eight League wins.

Sergio Llull scored 24 points including the 3/3 free throws that forced the extra period with 35 seconds to play in regulation. The Real Madrid star guard had a chance to win the match for his team but his 3-point attempt was off target. Jaycee Carroll dropped 20 points.
